Naughty? - The Springer Boys

The word for the week is "Naughty", as in "Naughty or Nice" on Santa's List.  Next week is "Nice"!

I am not sure if what these guys are doing or talking about is "Naughty" or "Nice", but I think they look a little guilty, or at least like "we got caught"!

My dad and his three brothers (above) were like four little boys when they got together!  They would tease, joke, tell stories and just be brothers.  

May Ruth, the oldest daughter in the family had this to say about her "naughty" brothers:

"Other times, there have been fun things that happened between the boys.  They were always getting into trouble.  One day, we had a horse and we had a saddle.  One of them, I can’t remember if it was Buford or Delton, decided that he was going to ride the saddle on the fence post.  And Daddy told them not to try it because he couldn’t ride the saddle on the fence post.  But anyway, after he [Daddy] went back to the house, they got the saddle and went to riding it on the fence and fell off and broke his leg!  I’ll never forget that because Daddy had told them not to and they went ahead and did it anyway."

As you can see, Delton has his hand on Buford's head!  I can imagine the conversations the family had about that! 

The first picture in this post is the last photo I can find before the 1992 death of Ramer.  Then, George Henry died in 1993 and Buford was the last of his siblings in 2011.  Here are 2 more with my dad, his mother and his siblings, taken in 1980.  My dad died in 1982.

All four of these brothers were amazing men who did awesome things in their lives and I am glad I knew all of them.  Whether you have had a "Naughty" or "Nice" year, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!
